Geography of Colombia
Colombia is bordered to the east by Venezuela and Brazil; to the south by Ecuador and Peru; to the north by Panama and the Caribbean Sea, and to the west by Ecuador and the Pacific Ocean.
Part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region of the world subject to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, Colombia is dominated by the Andes mountains. Beyond the Colombian Massif (in the south-western departments of Cauca and Nariño) these are divided into three branches known as cordilleras (from the Spanish for “rope”): the Cordillera Occidental, running adjacent to the Pacific coast and including the city of Cali; the Cordillera Central, running between the Cauca and Magdalena river valleys (to the west and east respectively) and including the cities of Medellín, Manizales, Pereira and Armenia, Quindío ; and the Cordillera Oriental, extending north east to the Guajira Peninsula and including Bogotá, Bucaramanga and Cúcuta. Peaks in the Cordillera Occidental exceed 13,000 ft (3,962 m), and in the Cordillera Central and Cordillera Oriental they reach 18,000 ft (5,486 m).[18] At 8,500 ft (2,591 m), Bogotá is the highest city of its size in the world.

How to Hiring People in Colombia
As I told you in other issues, Colombia has an amazing and skilled labor force that you can use in several fields. The great advantage is that Colombian labor force is more affordable that hire an employee in Europe or United States where you require of a lot of legal procedures, taxes and other obligations. The most important thing is that you can have the profile ready to hire and you know exactly the kind of people you need.

When you are hiring people in Colombia not only experience is going to be required but have a good presentation, a wonderful curriculum and certifications of courses, degrees and education background. If you are requiring people of office or professional level, it is important that you can evaluate its English level.
Even though TOEFL is not used for jobs –is only used in an academic realm in United States- you can make tests very similar that those applied by diverse universities in Europe, Canada, Asia and United States. I personally think it could be very useful if you are attempting to determine the professional skills in this language.

On the other hand, if you are not interested in hire people directly, you can choose a company that is dedicated to hire people. There are several agencies in Colombia that can simplify the work you are going to do. For instance, if you need an IT professional for a project who knows about Microsoft technologies, you can have this amazing support from this company.
They know more how to find qualified labor force and they are trained for that. If you trust in a company that can do this work for you, you will have a better opportunity to have a more qualified employees that start working in your organization or business.
